Positive Futures Through Football

Encouraging young people to take part in diversionary sport activities, the Positive Futures Leicester Programme, which is funded by The National Home Office Positive Futures Programme and Spinney Hill LPU positive activities funding, has engaged with over 800 local youngsters since it started in September 2012.

A special football tournament to showcase the youngsters’ talents, called the Community Projects Plus Cup, is due to kick-off on Monday (February 11th) when the first of five area competitions taking place at Braunstone Grove.

The aim of the event is to showcase the local talent hidden in Leicester and reward the young people for their dedication in taking part, with the winners of each area tournament progressing to the final at Northfield House Primary School Ball Court on Saturday March 9th between 10am and 1pm.

Teams will be selected on the night of each tournament and the winners and runners-up of each area competition will receive individual trophies.

Weekly football and multi-sport sessions in all of the areas are on-going at the following sites:
